Prayer for Prodigal in the family
Prayer for Prodigal in the family:
Aveniu Shebashamayim, yeet kadesh shemcha, Veyeet barech malchoot-cha, re-tson-cha yee-he-ye asui ba shamai-yeem u-va-eretz. Our Father in Heaven, may Your name be sanctified, may Your Kingdom be blessed, Your will be done in heaven and on earth.
Father, I approach Your throne of grace with confidence, that I may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Heb 4:16) El Rachum; You are the God who is full of compassion. I sing the songs of Your praises because I know that You are my just God, You are my same God, yesterday, today and tomorrow. You are my God who never changes. Your Word says “Philippians 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”; therefore I humbly come into Your presence on my knees Father, in righteousness that comes through Yeshua that You may hear my cry for mercy for the prodigals in my family, adult or young, grown up or still a baby. From the womb You called them, from the body of the mother You named them…. And You said “You are my servant….in whom You will be glorified”(Isaiah 49:1,3) Father I know ….You are patient with my loved one not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9) Father I see my loved ones running away from You like the prodigal son, they think they have a good life away from You. I know Father that, unlike me, You are waiting for them patiently, with open arms that when they see You they may experience Your true love. I know Father that my thoughts are not Your thoughts and my ways are not Your ways either (Isaiah 55:8) Just like You brought Jonah back and then used him to deliver Your message to the Ninevites, You will see to it that my loved ones don’t run too far from You that they may not find the way back home to You. You are El Rohi, my good Shepherd, You will leave 99 to go bring back my loved one safe and sound to the pen.
Sustain me, my LORD, according to Your promise, and I will live; don’t let my hopes be dashed; (Psalm 119:116) as I wait with You to see my family serve You whole heartedly. You said Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name. You are mine. (Isaiah 43:1) I know LORD I am Yours and so are those which You have given me. You said “I have called you. I have chosen you and not rejected you, I will strengthen you and help you.” (Isaiah 41:10) Help me LORD, let Yeshua knock on their door and open up their eyes and ears that they may clearly see You knocking at their door, let them hear You calling them out, give them a new heart and put a new spirit in them. Put Your Spirit in them and move them to follow Your decrees (Ezekiel 37:6) Put Your awesome fear in them that they may have fountain of life in them, which turns a man from the snares of death. (Proverb 14:27) Put the godly people in their path as You put Philip in Ethiopian Eunuch’s path that they may be delivered from evil. Rescue them from a destructive life style. Restore them to their senses and bring them home from the land of the enemy as You did for the Israelites by bringing them out of Egypt and made them dwell in the promised land.
Convict them of sin and their need for You. Don’t allow them to blame others or You for the choices they make for the troubles in their life. Show them that they alone are responsible for it but You are their way, the truth and the life. Cause them to draw close to You, guide them and satisfy their needs, physical and spiritual.
Build a hedge of protection around my loved ones to guard them from all physical, spiritual and emotional attacks. Block their path that they may not move towards the path that leads to destruction. Guide them into truth. Make them alert of the lies of the enemy. Teach them how to resist the devil and flee from all temptation. Cause them to grow into an oak tree. Help them grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with You and with man. Let the Spirit of the LORD rest on them. Teach them to live in freedom.
I know You are good, Your steadfast love endures forever and Your faithfulness to all generations. I thank You Father for restoring the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25) and bestowing my loved ones with beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning and garment of praise instead of despair (Isa 57: 18 & 61:3)
Teach them to walk by faith and not by sight (Heb 11:1) Don’t let them lean on their understanding but let them acknowledge You and receive understanding from You and trust You with every part of their life (Proverb 3:5-6)
Father thank You for grafting them and helping them to remain connected to the vine. Father thank You for causing them to be fruitful. Let their love for You grow strong that they may serve You with all their heart, all their soul, and all their mind. May they live and reign in You as nothing can separate those who are in You. I will praise You yet more and more, for You have heard my prayer and sending the answer as yes and Amen. Thank You Father for the gift of salvation in Yeshua’s name. Amen, Amen and Amen.
